Cancelled May 2026 meeting a mixed bag of disappointment and inspiration

This week exposed deeper instability within Stonewood HOA leadership and raised serious new questions about how the Association is being managed.

The scheduled HOA meeting was cancelled before it even opened because only two directors appeared. According to her statement made at the meeting location, Board President Rosy Fernandez called all three missing directors on her cell phone to see where they were, but there was no response any of them. With that Rosy announced that the meeting was cancelled. No updates were given to the members present and no association business was discussed.

The absences are no longer isolated incidents:

• Israel Marquez has now missed three consecutive meetings and four out of the last five

• Abel Montes has now missed two consecutive meetings

• Marty Montano, missed the last two meetings and is apprently no longer on the board

• No explanation for any of these absences has been provided to the members

Public real estate records indicate that Marty Montano sold his Stonewood townhome on May 4, 2026. Apparenly he left the community without any notice to the board or Lordon Management. In the last election, after two full rounds of voting, Marty received the highest number of votes among the three candidates listed on the ballot. Officially, Marty held the executive position of Stonewood HOA Treasurer, although he never presented a treasurer's report at the open meetings. Because HOA directors must be members of the Association, this appears to create an immediate vacancy on the board.  As of close of business Friday May 22, 2026 Lordon has not responded to an email request for verification of who is currently serving on the board.

Rosy has repeatedly stated since February that more members have come forward volunteering to serve on the board than the number of open seats, a claim that grows less credible with each month that passes where she refuses to name them and none of them attending meetings.

Inspiration comes with new volunteer commitments

There were some bright spots on Wednesday. Homeowner Daniel Abarca attended the meeting and explained privately that he is prepared to serve the community as a director.  Also, Carlos Figueroa has expressed the same interest to fill a vacant seat on the board. With Janet Morris having already volunteered that makes three members present at the cancelled meeting who are ready to fill the vacancies. At a time when governance seems to be failing and absent, the members in attendance found it encouraging to see new leadership stepping forward at Stonewood.
